A party without a drinking game is a little like watching a movie without the obligatory popcorn.Yes, it's possible—but it's less than half the fun. And since parties are supposed to be fun-laced events, including a drinking game is a good way of ensuring that people turn up at your next party.Still it's not just enough to choose a drinking game. You need to pick a GOOD one. There are varying views on what the best drinking games are but the Quarter's Beer Game ranks easily among the top options.WHAT YOU NEEDOne of the benefits of the Quarters beer drinking game is the ease with which it can be set up. You don't need a lot to play the game. All that's required is a quarter, a smooth playing surface, a glass and a healthy supply of beer. You'll also need people with one or two hands who are preferably not allergic to drinking beer. The RULESThe rules of the game are simple. The quarter's game can be played on the floor or table. Depending on the size of the group and room, participants may be seated in a circle. Each player is given the opportunity to try bouncing the quarter into the glass. If a player fails, it moves on to ...
... the next. For a successful turn, the quarter must bounce once on the table and then into the glass. When a player successfully bounces the quarter into the glass, he earns the right to ask the next player to drink a glass of beer. He is also given the opportunity of attempting another bounce. If he should fail the next bounce, the opportunity to bounce the quarter moves to the next player in the chain.BONUSPlayers who are able to get the quarter into the glass in three straight bounces get the bonus option of adding their own rule. For instance, the three bounce king (not the official title) can ask that every other player;Avoid using names during the gameTake a drink before trying to bounce the quarterDrink with their hands behind their backThe more creative the rules are, the more enjoyable the game often is. The new rules remain enforced until another player successful manages three bounces in a row, at which point the new Triple Bounce King may choose to either improve on the current rule or start a new rule of his/her own.SIDE RULES for the Quarters Drinking GameAlongside the major rules of the game, there are several side rules. A player is given the opportunity to retry a bounce if the quarter should hit the rim of the glass without going in. The player can either choose to;Turn down the ‘chance' offer—allowing the game to proceed.Or he can decide to accept the ‘chance' offer and attempt another bounce. If the player should accept the ‘chance' and fail, he will be expected to drink a glass of beer before the game continues to the next player.Depending on how confident the player is of his ability, a player who misses a ‘chance' may choose to increase the stakes by going for a ‘kill'. Again, if the player is successful, the game continues as before. However, if the player should fail, he must drink an entire bottle, glass or can of beer without pausing. If he should pause, another glass of delicious beer is awarded. The Quarter drinking game is a great addition to any party and is suitable for groups of 3 to 20 players.
