The way net has changed things has amazed everyone, and has resulted in the coinage of the phrase "disruptive technologies". Disruptive here does not mean destructive, but rather it points to the way in which entirely new approaches have been developed to do things.

One of the Disruptive Technologies or approaches is the home-based or net-based methods of earning a livelihood -- and a very decent one at that. Conventional methods of livelihood require you to toil from early morning till late at night, away from home, five or more days a week -- with very little flexibility or freedom. While this was fine up to the last generation, the twenty-first century demands more freedom and flexibility in jobs.

Once set up, you will have spend one to six months promoting your website in search engines and directories before you begin to get an income.

2. Content Portal: setting up a website or more on specific topic, such as tourism, music, medical facts, or any specific topic, and then populating it with Google ad words is another method. In addition to Google you can use many other advertisement services. The site can start giving income in less than 3 months.

3. Review Portal: setting up a website where you review a product, such as freeware, commercial software, cars, electronic cameras, musical instruments etc, and populating it with advertisements is a good method of income. Since the website has a focused theme, it helps the advertiser to offer focused advertisement, which increases your revenue generation possibilities.

4. Advise Portal: if you are good at any subject where people seek advise such as medicine, health, career, website optimization, or anything that interests people, you can set up an advise portal, populate it with advertisements and generate an income.

What is important is to decide what kind of website or websites suit you. Just as a sales portal is not for everyone, an advise portal is not for all. Some will find a content portal easy to maintain, while others will find a review portal more convenient. What is important is to find that kind of work that offers you maximum convenience.
