East Sacramento Chiropractor Helps Patients With Sports Injuries

Drs. Sandy Bell and Chip Studley two East Sacramento Chiropractor have been helping patients with sports injuries for a total of 13 years combined. When most people think of chiropractic, they think only of the spine and back and neck pain. While chiropractic is an excellent treatment modality for spinal treatment and resolution, it can also be wonderful for those nagging sports injuries that keep you from running, playing tennis and lifting weights.
There are 206 bones in the human body and all of them can become misaligned causing structural imbalances, muscle tension and pain. Any chiropractor who has taken extra time to learn how to adjust extremities can sufficiently manage a patient who suffers from sports injuries. Many times we even find that after people have been to many different doctors and suffered for a long time with a nagging sports injury, they find relief with chiropractic care prompting them to ask the question, “how come nobody told be about this before?” We also often hear this said from our patients, “I wish I would have found you ...
... years ago.”
Here’s a story that was pretty amazing. It was an individual in his mid-forties that walked into our office. He had experienced years of chronic right shoulder pain and was an avid tennis player who really wanted to get back on the court so he could play with his wife and school his friends. He came in because a neighbor of mine finally convinced him that chiropractic could help him with his problem. With much reluctance the man came in and was amazed at what happened in just two visits. After years of chronic shoulder pain our patient was free from shoulder pain! He couldn’t believe what had just happened and was very grateful to his friend for sending him in. Without the knowledge that chiropractic is great for sports injuries this man may still be in pain and off of the courts.
Now does chiropractic help with every sports injury every time? Of course not. No one technique or therapy will help with every single ailment of the human body, but it has been found to be very effective for those injuries that can be managed conservatively. The injuries that we have seen minimal results with include: meniscal tears, labral tears, ACL tears, and any broken bones. These are the injuries that chiropractic and soft tissue mobilization is very effective for: tennis elbow, rotator cuff injuries, muscle strains, ligament sprains (grade 1 and 2), plantarfascitis, carpal tunnel syndrome and the list goes on.
If you, a friend or a family member has any of these conditions please have them contact our East Sacramento Chiropractor office or any local sports chiropractic clinic so that they can get back to health quickly and naturally.
