One great alternative to radiator heaters are under floor heating systems. They provide warmth and comfort during the cold months and are easily installed under tiles, wooden or stone floors, and even under carpets. They serve as invisible heat generators and can make any room warm and toasty.

Installing the electric Under floor heating device

Before you purchase your under floor heating system, the first thing you have to understand is how to install the entire system. The heating device can be installed in any type of flooring, and the installation may take quite some time to finish since the entire flooring has to be removed to properly place the heating system under it. The heating system is a series of wires; the length will depend on how big the room is, as well as the type of flooring. A different type of flooring may require a different wire system. The most common electric under floor heating come in the form of electric wires, but you can also choose between electric cables or heating mats which are usually used for bigger rooms. For carpeted floors, just ensure that the carpet is not so thick, so that ...
... the heat can easily move upwards.

How does the heating system work?

The entire heating system is made up of layers of the heating device which can be in the form of electric wires, cables, or a heating mat. Beneath it is a layer of floor insulation and screed to make sure that the heat travels upwards and not stuck downwards. The next step should be done only by a professional electrician, he will need to connect the heating system into your home’s electric supply and install a thermostat that will help you control the temperature inside the room.

Electric heating systems are more commonly used compared to the water heating system because the latter will need more work since piped need to be placed under the flooring. Electric heating systems are easier to maintain and install, and can be used immediately once it has been fitted.

Heating System Costs

One other factor that should be considered when purchasing your electric heating device is to make sure that you can fit it into your budget. Purchasing an under floor heating system may be more convenient compared to other heating types but installing it would take long and you will also have to spend a little more for the installation of the entire heating system.
