Wii Fit
If your not the most... athletic individual. In fact, the preferred method of work out involves your brain and figuring out puzzles or playing a video game. When Nintendo announced WiiFit everyone got a bit excited. Combining fitness with video games has always proven worthwhile but not always successful. Sure you can break out a sweat with Dance Dance Revolution (DDR) it isn't a full workout and often at times you become accustomed to the workout and you quickly get bored. WiiFit isn't anything like those video games or programs.

Unlike WiiSports you actually have to get off my butt, and move, and unlike DDR there isn't the same strain on my poor knees after only an hour of excersise. Instead WiiFit is a nice combination of many workouts and fun activities that are meant to improve your weight, posture and balance.

We all like to think we are fairly well balanced, despite being overweight (and hearing the little voice on the game scream obese) and we usually also like to think that we can hold our own. Apparently we live in a land of delusion. After a few tests you will be placed at a WiiFit age ...
... and told probably told your balance left much to be desired. But despite this slap to the face you will be already and eager to prove it wrong and improve myself.

Start simply with some Yoga, and find that excel at breathing deeply. Then try one of the poses, finding that your not as flexible enough to follow exactly will have your muscles feeling stretched in a way that wasn't harsh or straining. Satisfied that you had warmed up move to more, well moving activities.

Wanting to have fun more fun now move to the hula-hoop, something you might want to note is that you cannot always do well in real life. It's true in WiiFit too, some have trouble catching the new hoops and keeping them going. This isn't a reflection of the sturdy WiiFit board but rather your own inabilities.

After some skiing and running you could decide that you are ready for the big stuff. Aerobics were hard to do, mostly because you will have limited space but once you get into the rhythm it was fun and I you may even forget you are working out! At this point you may find you are sweating and grooving with the elevator music but try to keep in step.

Not satisfied that you have pushed myself enough then move into strength training. I guess it's not surprising that you may have troubles with the push-ups. But it is a bit enlightening so keep at it.

Throughout the activities there is a lot of encouragement, some of it cheesy, some of it seemingly heartfelt, was nice and will keep your mind off the strain you had placed on your body. During my course of exercise You will have earned about 15 tokens that will go towards unlocking more activities, something that will keep many playing and keeps you from getting too bored with current exercises. You will probably collapse on your bed to catch your breath while you look-over the peripheral that came with the system.

The board you purchase with the game is sturdy, though warns you not jump on it. (Which you may do... often by mistake). It comes with little feet extenders if you have thick carpeting and is pretty responsive. In some cases it could do with being a touch bigger, if you have large feet and imagine for people with even bigger feet might be a bit to get used to. Kids however should have no problems. It runs off 4 AA batteries and off the bat I purchased a battery charger for it that charges from your PC or Wii, as battery costs can get a bit much. We would also recommend if you're sharing this accessory is a silicon cover, it also keeps the board clean and dust free.

If you're lucky enough to have a Wii, and don't mind exercise and probably need it, you should go out and drop the $89.99 to pick this up. The accessory also works with other games, WeSki is probably the most popular as well as titles in the future. (Dare we mention WeCheer) Get yourself or your kids active, it's fun and certainly not as intimidating as a gym.
