Once the ring is on the future bride's finger, all the excitement of planning begins. Fortunately, for brides in the Pittsburgh area, they have all the sources they need to plan a fabulous celebration from the bachelorette party right up to the honeymoon. Couples can find plenty of reception halls in downtown Pittsburgh as well as in the surrounding boroughs.

Bachelor/Bachelorette Parties

A few weeks before the big day, brides and grooms often head out with their friends for a night on the town. They can check out some of the hottest bars and clubs in Pittsburgh, or they could visit a spa for a more relaxing event. Frequently, siblings, cousins and friends come in from out of town, so booking a hotel room for them is a thoughtful gesture. Even if no one is coming in from another town or state, sometimes it may be better to book a hotel room anyway. It allows the reception to last longer, and it prevents anyone from driving home after a night out drinking. Hotels with spas can even help prepare the wedding party for the ceremony.

Wedding Events

A rehearsal dinner is usually held a night or two before ...
... the wedding day. If the couple is getting married on-site, such as at one of the reception halls in downtown Pittsburgh, they should see if the hall will allow for a ceremony practice the night before. If the wedding is on a Saturday, it might not be possible to do a rehearsal the night before as another event could be taking place. If the wedding is slated to take place in a religious house of worship, rehearsal arrangements can usually be made. The bride and groom should treat the wedding party and immediate family to dinner after the rehearsal, and they can do that at one of the many restaurants or hotels in the Pittsburgh area.

As mentioned earlier, ceremonies can take place in an array of places. Once again, hotels provide a suitable backdrop for both the nonreligious wedding ceremony and the traditional reception. There are plenty of Pittsburgh wedding reception areas from which to choose. Couples may opt to have their entire wedding celebration outdoors, or they could search out the classiest catering hall in the area. Some libraries, museums and other special places for the couple will sometimes allow the celebration of nuptials to take place on their grounds.

After the Fact

Once the wedding is over and done with, the marriage has just begun. After the guests have traveled from one of the many Pittsburgh wedding reception areas, they can stay over in the same hotel as the bride and groom. In the morning, guests can be treated to a farewell brunch before everyone returns to their homes. Sometimes, the couple cannot afford a traditional honeymoon right away. In that event, they should consider visiting some of the area’s attractions.
