What most people fail to realise is that if they have the money and wherewithal to take a bareboat charter holiday or a yacht charter holiday then they should truly explore their genuine freedom. They are free to explore some of the greatest and under rated cities of this world, without the fear of not being able to get somewhere of find a place to sleep. A place such as Vienna is hardly mentioned as a tourist location, but if you have the means by which to explore, then why not try. They have a massive river that runs right through the city that you could use to tour the better part of Austria.
Vienna is the capital of Austria and boasts the ancient tradition of its early settlement. This is because it dates back to the third millennium and 400 BC. It was called the Leopolsberg area, which had a fortified settlement called Vedunia. This is where the area developed one of the centres of United Noricum. This was then subdued by the Romans, as commanded by Tiberius in 16 BC. Their job was to go about expressing (through the sumptuousness of palaces and monuments) the absolute supremacy of the Vienna people. With that said, no less important are the musical traditions of Vienna, which is the city that gave birth to the likes of Strauss and Schubert, and has received brilliant composers such as Mozart and Beethoven, and still a landmark European opera.
Due to its geographical position and the intermingling of cultures and styles, Vienna is called the gateway between East and West. Unlike many large cities, Vienna is a group that developed organically. The ancient fortified city corresponds perfectly to the city's first district, where the ancient walls have been replaced by the Ring and the Franz-Josephs Kay, along the Danube Canal, while the remaining 23 districts around the ancient centre developed in concentric circles.
Do not just limit your bareboat charter holiday or yacht charter holiday to rivers and lakes. If you have salt water in your blood, then there is no end of places you could visit. If you are an experienced sea person then you could tour the world if you like. You wouldn’t have to stick to sailing up the rivers of various countries. You could go just about anywhere.
