Alright, now that you've cleaned up whatever drink you just spewed all over you computer or recovered from the bout of snorting laughter that last sentence resulted in, think about. They may be cheaper as a result of a special that is being run, they might be discounted to entice people to vacations when the economy is down, or they might be packages that are soon to be "out of ...
... date" and so they are attempting to boost attendance- think discount cruises- or get enough people on board to provide the travel experience advertising- think group travel packages contingent on there actually being a group.

Whatever it is that makes a vacation discounted, that discount is going to feel pretty good for people who watch their wallets. After all, unless you have the money to travel freely without thinking too much about it, you are probably looking to vacation within your means. Going into debt over vacation is a really great way to prevent yourself from relaxing and coming home feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. So, it would then hold that if you were to book a vacation that was discounted such that you felt as if you were not only living within your means, but were getting something bigger for less, then you'll be even more enthused about your vacation.

Last but not least, treat discount vacation packages as a chance to do something you might not otherwise do. If you usually go on vacation in landlocked locales, why not give discount cruises a try? You might find that you love being out at sea, you might make some new friends, or you might just end up realizing that you're a landlubber at heart. Either way, you'll have taken advantage of a great deal and tried something new- two things that are very good for you.
