Whether it be gambling, drinking, smoking, playing sports, watching TV, playing video games, eating, or sleeping, the habit becoming an addiction depends on the person’s state of mind or mindset. The actions and the results you do are not your neighbor’s responsibility but yours. Your behavior, though, can affect many a thousand people you get in touch with.

Many think that gambling is one of the most evil vice that a person could have. They claim that gamblers never get rich and it increases problem in economy. So how can one explain those who’ve changed their lives because they won millions of dollars in a lottery game? Or how can one agree that gambling is evil when schools, orphanages, and churches have been put up by gambling profits or proceeds?

These arguments or issues are not new in our world today. Ever since gambling has been discovered, there is non-stop discussion as to whether it should stay or be forever banned. And governments cannot come to a final decision to that because they know that there will be instances they will need to use gambling to increase the country’s financial status.

People from other countries can enjoy their vacation trips to such destinations. They can get away from the distractions of daily work and the like and simply relax and enjoy casino games, too.

Inside the casino halls, they get to meet new people and make new friends with fellow players. They also get to enjoy bonuses and great prizes in the games. If entertainment is what people are looking for, gambling establishments are the best place to go to.

So you think gambling is purely for fun, entertainment, and relaxation? The benefits do not stop there. Gambling activities like lotteries have greatly helped many charity organizations in putting up nursing homes, homes for street children, and even schools that cater to out of school youths. So who says gambling is not beneficial? And another benefit that gambling has on old people especially is improved memory. People in their old ages usually do not have much to think about or do so their brain aging deteriorates faster than when they are thinking about things. Casino games like blackjack, baccarat, or poker that require some thinking skills can greatly improve old folks’ memories. And they tend to be less stressed than when they just stay at home and wait for their time.

Whatever your beliefs in gambling are, take a second look and make a careful investigation. Your opinions may be right in some sense, but they may also be misguided at times. People are prone to radical reactions when presented with issues that are against their prejudices. The next time you are presented with topics or discussions that you do not agree with like gambling, think twice, scrutinize, and learn.
