Since its inception some 50 years ago, The Indian Institute of Management-Ahmedabad (IIM-A) has remained India’s top ranked business institutes. This management institute, by far, has contributed the most number of entrepreneurs in the country. Students of IIM-A are found in most of the Indian organizations holding high profiles. Over the years, the name of IIM-A means quality and it is proud to produce the largest number of entrepreneurs in India. Without any doubt, this is one of the best MBA colleges in Ahmadabad.
Most of the students in this institute come from reputed educational colleges of the country. Some complete their graduation in pure sciences, other come after a qualification in commerce while many others come after getting a degree in humanities. For the batch 2012-14, most of the students who got admission are from engineering colleges of India. In fact, every year for this innovative program the numbers of students who get admissions, majority of them are engineers.
The Indian Institute of Management-Ahmedabad (IIM-A) officials informed further that out of 381 candidates enrolled, the number of engineering students joined are 364, which becomes about 95.54 per cent of the total number. Another interesting fact about is that for PGP-2012-13 program about 76.47 % enrolled are married and another 47.06% enrolled have children.
This reputed B-school of the country has announced that keeping with the changing trends they will introduce new elective programs. The institute will offer some new management courses in sports marketing, real estate management and coaching. Elective courses will also come in media investment management and marketing management. An interesting course on team and leadership effectiveness will also be offered to students.
Another one of the firsts for IIM-A is that it has launched a 'BRICSs on BRICs' program. This means that this institute in collaboration with other Business institutes is offering Global Executive Program. The other business schools are from Brazil, Russia and China, the other three BRIC nations.
