The city is on its path to get developed as the Western countries, the economy has shoot up and the ways to earn money have shifted from just oil and gas to tourism, real estate, healthcare, financial services, and many others.
To work in Dubai, the first thing you need is a working visa, and it is essential that the company which hire s you makes the arrangements for your visa and the duration for which you have to stay. Another important requisite is to have the knowledge of English, particularly speaking and reading. Knowledge of Arabic or Urdu is really appreciated as the employers prefer candidates with command over Arabic language.
Most jobs that require very experienced or senior professionals prefer hiring nationals from their own country or from the European or western countries like US and UK. The low-skilled Dubai jobs have employed a large number of Indian, Pakistani and Egyptian immigrants who work as cheap labor. The areas in which they work include construction, oil and gas industry, airlines, domestic services, and others. The ...
... salaries paid to them are often low and since living in Dubai is costly, the workers have to share accommodation with other colleagues.
Living and working in Dubai
In Dubai the cost of living increases year after year but still not comparable to cities like Tokyo and Moscow. Inflation rises much faster than wages, which is becoming one of the main concerns of the residents residing there. As mentioned earlier, Dubai offers a very expensive lifestyle, so if you want to save money for a while then choosing other cities can be a better choice. You can prefer other cities like Abu Dhabi or Doha, which are comparatively cheaper than Dubai and are also flooded with more jobs.
In Dubai the working days are from Saturday or Sunday to Thursday because Friday is day off for religious reasons. As per the labour law of UAE, the normal workday is of 8 hours, except the month of Ramadan which is then reduced to 6 hours.
Keep in mind that the climate, religion and culture do not make the city livable, but the economic benefits make you fit to live in a country or a city. It is always advisable to check the total income which you will be earning while living in a city like Dubai. Make a study of income and expenditure prior to the shift to Dubai and see if it profitable in each case.
