Social work is very common phenomenon to all of us. We know the very words from our childhood lesson. In our lesson we are taught that it is a very noble job. We as human being have some responsibility to do good to our society and to all of the human beings. Doctors, engineers, scientist, lawyers, police, leaders are all engaged with the social development for our wellness so they are real social friends.

Social friends do well for society. To do good for society is their duty and they should be dutiful and accountable for every human well being. The common people should also be careful to their environment and society. But does the above mentioned duty are served by the social friends? Today the scenario is totally different. Doctors have been dacoit and their malpractices to prescribe medicine and the treatment to poor patients are well known. Lawyers serve for the corrupt politicians. Police save them. Scientists are now the servants of the environment destroyers and exploiters who are notorious corporate bodies. And the engineers are doing well for the culprits and for that they can devastate environment ...
... at any cost. Here one of the particular types of engineers will be mentioned. How they are destroying the natural balances will be discussed.

We know about mining where precious natural stocks or resources are dug from the earth. The miners to say engineers plan the mining activities uses latest tools and techniques to carry on the activities. They use Drum Pumps , drill machine, pipes, cranes, and heavy-duty vehicles, rail and so on. The tools do it skillfully. There is no gain saying that the job is complicated heavily in nature and the life risks are very much at any moment. Are the engineers doing it for well being to the whole nation? The answer is tragically no. The mining is done only for some narrow interest. No common people are benefitted. The political leaders of some nations and the corporate bodies become prosperous by these. Engineers derive some wealth with the help of their lords.
Engineers are the just servant. The political interest is the main reason and it totally makes wealthy the bourgeois or capitalist. No common man gets any benefit and the environment is totally damaged. It has been real incidents if we take the example of places. In case of India’s Odisha, the Vedanta’s aluminum mining, in Madhya Pradesh, the Balaghat’s Copper mining have destroyed livelihood of the tribes, common people and environment as contamination of toxic materials in water body, land. The farm land has been under the grief of toxic material.

There are many such incidents in all over the world that common people have been land less and their environment disturbance has been. When Drum Pumps flow the hazardous, toxic, poisonous solutions outside the mine the contamination is occurred with the natural bodies. The local people, cattle and overall the environment has to bear the brunt of the activities. So it is clear for whose benefit the mining is done by our so called social friends. Are we really the beneficiaries? Does it good for the society? Hope you have got the answer.
