It’s not that one goes for a holiday every day. A holiday is usually an annual affair that needs to be planned and executed properly. Choosing a perfect destination for a holiday goes a long way in helping you enjoy it to the fullest and will also fill you with sweet moments and memories that will stay with you all your life. Be it a beach or a hill station, a national park or a famous city, no matter wherever you go for a holiday, you must ensure that the destination you choose will bring you lots of joy and happiness. One such holiday destination is the Kingdom of Nepal.
Situated in the lap of the Himalayas, Nepal is the home of the 8 out of 10 highest mountains of the world. The kingdom of Nepal is a landlocked country in the Southeast Asia bordering The Republic of China and India. Tourism is the most important industry of Nepal which helps it generate a lot of foreign exchanges. Nepal offers a very diverse range of things to do for the travellers. A lot of adventurous activities like white water rafting, trekking, bungee jumping, paragliding, Nepal mountaineering, etc are found in Nepal. The climate of Nepal ranges from subtropical monsoon conditions in the Terai region to alpine conditions in the Great Himalayas. Annual rainfall ranges from 70 and 75 inches in the eastern Terai and between 30 and 35 inches in western Nepal. The climate varies from season to season, so the best time to visit Nepal is during autumn which lasts from early September to early December and during spring which lasts from early March to the end of May.
Some of the most famous tourist places to visit in Nepal are:
Kathmandu: The capital city of the country and is a very beautiful and well planned city with lots of historical importance. It is the most developed cities of Nepal offering a rich and diverse culture intertwined with growing modernisation. Nepal has many beautiful temples and the former royal palaces which are a great tourist attraction. Pashupatinath: Located 6 km away from Kathmandu, Pashupathinath temple is the biggest temple in the world dedicated to Lord Shiva. A large number of devotes visit the temple. Boudanath: This stupa, situated 11 Km. from the centre of Kathmandu, is one of the biggest in the world of its kind. It stands with four pairs of eyes in the four cardinal directions, keeping a lookout for righteous behaviour and human prosperity. This Buddhist stupa was built by King Man Deva at the advice of the Goddess Mani Jogini. It is built on an octagonal base and is contains inset prayer wheels. The shrine is surrounded by the homes of Lamas, or Buddhist priests. Swayambhunath: Located approximately 3km from the centre of Kathmandu, this Buddhist stupa is said to be 2000 years old. The stupa which forms the main structure is composed of a solid hemisphere of brick and earth which supports a lofty conical spire capped by a pinnacle of gilt copper. Painted on the four sided base below the spire are all the seeing eyes of Lord Buddha. The whole area around the Stupa contains an array of small stupas and temples. This is one of the best places from which to view the Kathmandu valley, as it is situated on a small hillock. And other famous places are Devi’s fall, Lumbini, Mahendra Gupha, Phewa Lake and many more.
Nepal is paradise for adventure seeking travellers and a hub for adventure tourism as it provides a wide variety of adventurous activities like trekking, rock climbing, mountaineering, rafting, bungee jumping etc., Enjoying a view travelling in Mountain flights in Nepal is one most sought after activities in Nepal. Apart from that Trekking in Nepal has its own charm and beauty. Some of the most famous trekking destinations are: Langtang Valley Trekking, Kunchanjuanga Base Camp Trekking, Helambu Trekking, Dolpo Trekking, Mount Everest Trekking etc.
