Irritants too can upsurge the chances of an asthma attack. Irritants are found in a whole lot of things that we use in our daily lives. These include floor cleaner, deodorants, incense stick, after shaves and other such things.
Below is the list of a few chemicals that an asthma patient should be aware of:
* Parabens – emollient which are found in large numbers in all cosmetic products. (Mascaras, eye shadows etc)
* UV filters – The sun screen lotions which we use may cause problems for asthmatic patients.
* Glycol Ethers and Ethanolamines – Found mainly in home cleaning products.
* Alkylphenols – This is found mostly in detergents.
* Triclosan – Hand sanitizers, anti bacterial soaps are a good source of this chemical.
* Cyclosiloxanes – found in shampoos and also in sun screen lotions.
