A motor insurance policy is a must for all those who own or drive motors (vehicles). With the purchase of a motor insurance, one will be safe guarded on a financial basis from the big expenses that might be incurred due to some accident or any other untoward incident. When one undergoes any loss due to damage or accident or even the cost of replacement of his / her motor then he / she can file a claim to cancel out the motor accident- related bills. There are few things that one must note when or after untoward incident takes place. These noted things make it easier to file the claim.

• When the accident or any damage occurs then it is advisable that if possible take photos of the scene and other particulars with your camera phone (if you have one). This saves time and provides you with sure evidences while reporting the incident. Some individuals, who are knowingly or unknowingly a part of the incident, might feel offended with the process of clicking photos. In such conditions the one clicking the photo can explain others that these are required for the motor insurance claim. If there are any skid marks or if public ...
... property or even if the property of the other party is damaged then the photos of the same should also be taken. These photos can be mailed to the insurance company and then they can evaluate it and thus the chances of rejecting the claim are effectively reduced.

• Other things to note include the positions of the motors before and after the accident and other minor details. The details include the bills of repairing the damage or of replacement and other documents that prove that the incident took place and the claimed amount is genuine. As one never knows when what detail will be required in the process of filing a claim.

• Keep every piece of information ready as the insurance company needs all the detailed information. The motor insurance company decides whether the insured is guilty or not depending on the information provided to the company. Also the insurance officer will need to look at the documents and piece of information obtained from the opposite party. If the insurer (motor insurance company) concludes that the insured is guilty then the claim can be reduced or even rejected.

• The process of claiming and the procurement of the pay out are long and involve various proceedings. Thus one must be ready to invest time and efforts for the same.

• With greater claims, one has to pay more amounts in monthly premiums for the next pre-defined period.

• Carefully notice and make sure that if you as the insured are given less claim then the amount deducted by the motor insurance company is due to genuine reasons only. If not then the insured can fight for the full claim and against proper evidences can win the case and procure full claim amount.
