Cochin renamed as Kochi is a beautiful city and one of the largest urban conglomerations of Kerala. The city serves as the financial capital of Kerala and is also a pretty popular tourist destination of Kerala. The city is also one of the fastest developing regions of India and is home to many MNC's along with other corporate houses and educational institutions that attracts a large number of young students and professionals making the region a potpourri of cultures.

Cochin along with being a modern cosmopolitan city of Kerala is also a historically rich region. The city served as a major trading center of spices for several centuries. It was due to this economic prosperity of the region that it was a highly desired region by several dynasties and powers and as such the region changed hands several times, the influences of each dynasty can be seen among the various old buildings, architecture and various other facets of the city life.

Cochin is also well connected by the trains to various corners of the country. There are two fully functional railway stations in the region namely, Ernakulam Town Station and Ernakulam Junction Station. If you are planning to visit Cochin then must include Munnar trip in your plan. The distance from Cochin to Munnar is just 127 km. It is well connected by roadways. But it will be wise if you prefer car in place of Bus.
