Check any leads that you use to connect to the Internet and ensure that they haven't been pulled out of your computer or the wall. If you connect using a wireless modem or router, make sure that any wireless dongle is still connected and also ensure that the wires in the router itself have not come unplugged.

Make sure that you are attempting to connect to the right network. If you are connecting wirelessly then you are likely to be presented with a huge number of networks that are available for your use. You should use your own network, ...
... add your own username and password details, and then remain connected to this network whenever you are online. If you are setting up a new connection it may be necessary, and will certainly be beneficial to connect using a wired connection first before going wireless.

Do make sure that you are using the appropriate username and password. Some routers may offer an admin password as well as a password to connect to the wireless network. Make sure you use the right one in the right circumstances because you won't gain access using incorrect passwords. If needs be, try them both to enjoy success.

It is vital that your network connection is set up accurately if you want to enjoy a seamless and ongoing Internet connection. Broadband connections are supposed to be always on and this means that you will be able to turn on your computer or laptop and start using the Internet straight away but it may take a few minutes to locate the network and connect properly so do be patient when you first log on.
