The Edmonton Oilers are a professional ice hockey team from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The team was founded in 1972 as one of the 12 founding franchises of World Hockey Association. They are the members of the Northwestern Division of the Western Conference of the National Hockey League. The Oilers joined the NHL in 1979 and are today the sole WHA team in place.

The Edmonton Oilers 30th anniversary was celebrated in a grand manner. To mark the occasion, they presented their new 3rd Jersey on the website. This new jersey is a replica of the 1979 historic jersey and will be worn 14 times during this season. When Kevin Lowe scored the first Edmonton Oilers goal in Chicago on October 10th, 1979, he was wearing this Oilers Blue and Orange uniform.
