Wall Stickers Grow With Your Kids

It’s lovely when you can give your child a theme in their bedroom, but wallpaper is expensive and painting can take a considerable amount of time. And then there’s another problem. They grow up.

Wall stickers or decals are the perfect solution. Not only do they provide bright, colourful imagery to inspire your youngster, they can be changed as they get older. That way, you can use the same neutral paint scheme without having to redecorate and they won’t feel their room is boring or babyish.

When your children are little, farmyard animals, trains and teddy bears can provide a splash of colour, while letters and numbers can be useful to help them learn. For a more relaxed feel, hot air balloons and fluffy clouds evoke a calm summer’s day, and there are height charts so you can record how tall they get.

School age kids might appreciate something a little more personal. If your son is into dinosaurs, what could be better than a huge T-Rex that fills a whole wall? Teenage kids have different tastes and are often obsessed with something (or someone!). Why not get a wall sticker depicting the object of their affection? If your daughter is into horse riding, an elegant horse silhouette might be perfect, and there are other animal designs available, from birds to giraffes. A larger than life image of Justin Bieber might float your boat, while boys might prefer something a little sportier. A celebrating footballer or an F1 car can add a little drama to their bedroom.

Of course, there are more general designs that can be great for teens. Giant dandelions scattering their seeds into the wind, butterflies and dragonflies, floral patterns and woodland nymphs all create a serene but stylish effect. Or for something more masculine, apache helicopters, VW Beetles and guitars can fill the space.

Blackboard stickers are another idea. Rather than having to drill and screw a board to the wall, stickers are available with a black surface for chalk. Your children can draw pictures or leave notes, then wipe them away again. The stickers aren’t just for bedrooms, either; blackboard designs can be great for leaving notes to your kids in the kitchen.

As your children get older, the old stickers can be taken down to be replaced with more adult designs. The stickers can be removed easily by applying some heat with a hair drier and carefully peeling them off. No mess, no fuss.
