The tropical island of Bali is often referred to as ‘Paradise on earth’ by writers, bloggers and travellers. A visit to the island will exactly reveal why poets have written such eloquent poems and penned songs on this ‘Gods’ Own Land!’ Lush green rice terraces, silvery sandy beaches, relaxed pace of life and hospitable people have attracted travellers to visit the place again and again. If you are no exception or are yet to discover Bali, then you should know that any time is a great time to visit Bali. If you belong to the ‘rich and famous’ category then obviously holiday expenditure is not an issue. If however, you are on a shoestring budget or would like to keep costs under control then you would want to plan right from the beginning till the end, well in advance. To that extent a convenient location in Bali at an affordable price is an important consideration.

A number of people do realize the importance of low cost air tickets and the big savings that follows. However, ...
... people don’t realize until much later that along with low cost tickets, airlines actually do provide a convenient location in Bali in the form of budget hotels! Budget hotels and low cost tickets come in as a twin package! This is not only important for savings, it actually saves you from being mobbed by local tourist agents each suggesting a hotel to stay in. This is the last thing you wish to happen to you especially if you are with family. Bali is a place that you can never become knowledgeable about unless you have stayed for a considerable period and experienced the local sounds, sights and flavours first hand. From water sports like surfing, snorkelling, scuba diving, parasailing, paragliding to mountain biking, bird watching, from exotic elephant safaris to dolphin tours, from bird parks to water parks from temples to cultural performances, the list is unending.

In fact, a major chunk of contribution from tourism in Indonesia comes from Bali. In addition to natural scenic beauty, the affordability factor makes the idea of a holiday at a convenient location in Indonesia highly possible. From Kuta to Legian to Jakarta there are a number of low end lodging accommodations with excellent facilities such as family rooms and rooms for disabled along with ceiling fans, friendly staff, 24 hour security and most important of all a comfortable bed and bath which can be comparable to a five star quality facility! The concept of chain hotels with a standardized quality has made it possible to freely book without hesitation across the country. So, if someone was to go to Legian Bali from Jakarta, booking in the same group of chain hotels will give you an idea that the location need not be ‘back of beyond’ or some obscure spot. In fact, a few accommodations can be made to suit the convenience of the guest when checking into a hotel at another destination.

So, by the same logic a convenient location in Legian Bali would mean a central location! So central, that you could probably expect to walk down from your budget hotel to the beach or local shopping centre! Browse the net and book on line to get good discounts from these hotels that offer even crazier deals when you are staying during the week. If a beach resort like Legian has limited car park, it should not affect an average tourist. Extra requirements such Wi-Fi, TV are provided at a cost depending on the number of hours used. This is a mutually advantageous arrangement for the hotel and the guest as it cuts waste in terms of the environment and cost. Legian is a much quieter beach resort than Kuta and for those who are looking for a respite from the maddening crowd this is the place for sun worshipping! It is a common site to see surfers wading over dangerous waves and there are designated areas for surfing coaching classes for beginners! A number of local eateries operate close to beaches and many swear it is the best food that they ever tasted in their lives! Eating locally in Legian or Kuta is a much better option than eating in hotels, purely for the authenticity and cost of local food which is cheaper outside. So, once you have decided to visit Bali, check with your friends, keep the simple steps in mind, avail discounts on the net and head for the beach!
