As someone who struggled with losing weight for years I can understand the constant fight to resist eating those tasty foods that pack on the pounds. As a personal trainer I understand what eating those foods will do to your body. As a person who has studied nutrition for years I also understand how your body will process those tasty but unhealthy foods and why it will cause you to gain fat so fast around your belly, thighs and arms. I would like to take this time to give you a case study of the mental struggle that takes place when someone who is use to eating junk all day decides to lose weight.

Here is what a typical day might look like for the average person who is struggling to lose stomach fat. For all intent purposes we will call this "average person" Mike.

At 7:00 a.m Mike wakes up and is in a bit of a rush to get to work so he either skips breakfast all together or he throws a pop-tart or bagel in the toaster as he throws shoes on his feet. He gobbles down his food and gulps down a glass of bottled orange juice as he runs out the door.

At 10:00 Mike takes a quick 15 minute coffee break but due ...
... to a reason that I will explain later in this case study, he desperately is craving a sugar and carb fix. So to satisfy his hunger Mike adds a bunch of sugar to his coffee plus he grabs a jelly donut from the coffee room.

Around 12:30 or 1pm Mike finally can break away from his desk for an hour and go to lunch. Since Mike was so rushed in the morning to get out of the door he didn't have the chance to prepare a healthy lunch so what normally ends up happening is he will stand in line at the lunch truck to get a greasy sandwich or pick up a slice of pizza and a large soda.

Since his lunch was rushed and not full (nutritionally speaking) around 2:30 he gets a sharp hunger and goes to the snack machine and gets a bag of chips.

It only gets worse as he eats diner... fried foods, alcoholic drinks, and ice cream.

If this sounds like something that you also experience then I want you to lend an ear to what I am about to say.

You sure can improve on what you are eating but you will need a solid plan. My tips for you are to follow a meal plan as best as you can. I suggest investing into a program that lays out sensible meal plans that are easily adaptable to your lifestyle. You need to make sure that the food you eat is nutritionally dense and not highly processed. It is best to eat natural whole foods as opposed to processed and chemically altered foods. It may take you a few weeks to get use to eating healthy vs. all that junk food that you were eating. Please keep up with your program and don't quit after the first 2 weeks. If you hang in there for at least 21 days I bet you will see a big difference in how you look and feel.

Another tip that will help you is if you change your fitness routine. I suggest you use a program that allows you to do fast workouts. This will allow you to boost your metabolism and shred body fat on day to day basis.

All you got to do now is find the program that works best for you and apply the 2 tips mentioned above.

Enjoy!
