Find Me A Cheap Hotel In 1borneo

Located on the northern portion of the island of Borneo, Sabah is the second largest State in Malaysia. Once known as Jesselton, Kota Kinabalu is the State Capital. Mountainous and with lush rainforest, it is often referred to as the “Land below the Wind” because of its’ location south of the typhoon prone region around the Philippines.
There are many shopping complexes in KK (Kota Kinabalu) and the number is growing; Centrepoint, Wisma Merdeka, Karamunsing Complex, Wawasan Plaza, KK Plaza and the new 1Borneo Mall. Although the shops carry fixed priced items, the goods sold are all reasonably priced during the Mega Sales months of March, August, and December. Apart from these, areas such as Asia City, Sinsuran, Gaya Street and Api-Api Centre are also shopping areas good for electronic products and souvenirs. Most shopping complexes open from 10:00am to 10:00pm. Many also have hotels and motels close by. It was quite easy to find me a cheap hotel in 1Borneo.
Shopping in Sabah ...
... would be incomplete if you were to skip one of their main attractions nowadays, the 1Borneo Hypermall. With many local and international brands to choose from, it is a lifestyle mall to be exact. Choosing lodging that is within the vicinity of a shopping mall like the 1Borneo Hypermall is cost effective for those on a budget. This is because the area is well connected with public transport. Although this happens to be the largest lifestyle mall in East Malaysia, accommodation here is reasonable. However, it would be good to get the best deals in town as the 1Borneo calendar is almost always packed with activities. I usually travel early in the year so it’s fairly easy to find me a cheap hotel in 1Borneo.
With more than 3.5 million hotel guests in 2010, it is quite a challenge if someone were to ask “Can you find me a cheap hotel in Sabah?” But,having said that, it is good to know that Sabah has quite a number of hotels. In fact, it has a wide range of accommodation to suite every budget, from motels and hotels to even luxurious resorts. Being me, I’ll skip on resorts as I would like to splurge my hard earned money on something more meaningful than a room I’ll probably be in only to take showers and rest.
Looking for handicrafts, trinkets and maybe even titbits? Make your way to the local Tamu or market. Tamus are traditional open-air fairs or bazaars where natives sell a wide variety of local food, agricultural products and traditional crafts. Rural Sabahans take this opportunity to market their goods to city folks. Also, visit the Filipino Market for a variety of inexpensive souvenirs. Some from the Philippines, many from Malaysia; among the items offered include cultured pearls, textile, seashells, wood crafts and more. It is located in between the Central market and Night market on Jalan Tun Fuad Stephens. Needless to say, bargaining is a must and also be wary of fakes. If you are looking for authenticity then the Sri Pelancongan Sabah Shop located at Sinsuran Complex is a good place to stop by.
Located in West Malaysia, Selangor covers an area of 125,000 sq. km. Hailed as the "Industrial Hub of the Nation", Selangor is the country's premier State with huge resources, well developed communications network and industrial estates. A pleasing hotchpotch, Selangor has a fascinating diversity of creeds, cultures and races in its population. Malay, Chinese, and Indians mingle freely with other minorities. More than 2.74 million people call it home. Selangor is also the most populated State in the country.
Shopping in Selangor is an experience in itself. There are busy night markets, bazaars, traditional little shops, department stores and modern shopping malls. Each provides its own unique shopping experience. Major shopping centres in Selangor include 1 Utama, The Curve, Mines Resort City, Sunway Pyramid, AEON Bukit Tinggi Shopping Centre and Subang Parade. Many also have affordable accommodation. I checked out the best deals to find me a cheap hotel in Selangor.
Selangor is accessible internationally through Port Klang and KLIA. The North-South Highway provides convenient access from Thailand, Singapore and all parts of the peninsula. With bus stations at all main towns, buses are also a practical way of getting about within Selangor. It would be best to pick accommodation that is strategically situated as there are quite a number of things to see and do besides shopping. You can visit the National Zoo, Templers Park, Bukit Cahaya Seri Alam Agriculture Park and Sunway Lagoon Theme Park. Don’t forget to stop by Batu Caves to see one of the world’s tallest Lord Murugan statues (a Hindu God). One has to climb a flight of 272 steps to reach the Temple Caves featuring ornate Hindu shrines. It is located about 13km from Kuala Lumpur.
All things said, it is now time to plan your next trip to Malaysia. Be it a sightseeing trip or a shopping spree, Malaysia has lots to offer.
