Bangalore, regarded as the ideal gateway to India, is a paradise for tourists with architectural landmarks, natural lakes, gardens and parks. In the past few decades, Bangalore has also grown up into a centre of information technology.

Earlier, Bangalore was known as the 'City of Gardens' since it has several gardens and parks. Bangalore was a peaceful city a couple of decades back and then it was called the 'Pensioner's Paradise'. Now the city is known as the 'Silicon Valley of India'. Bangalore is now the major exporters of information technology from India. Bangalore is an ideal place for employment-seekers, particularly in the field of information technology.

The earlier name of the city was Bengaluru. According to legends, Hoysala king, Veer Ballala lost his way during his hunting in the forest. The hungry king was served boiled beans by an old woman. The happy king named the place Benda-kaal-Uru (Town of Boiled Beans). It later came to be known as Bengaluru. The Britishers named it Bangalore and now it has got its original name Bengaluru. Bangalore was founded by Kempegowda in 1537.

... Palace and Tipu Sultan Palace are among the major attractions in the city. Chikkajala Fort is situated on Airport Road. Bangalore is known for some natural lakes like Hasaraghhatta, Hebbal and Ulsoor. In Ulsoor Lake, boating facility is available.

Bangalore has large number of shrines. Among them are St. Mary's Church (oldest in Bangalore), Dargah Hazarath Tawakkal and Jumma Masjid. Among the temples are Bull Temple (built during 16th century) and Shri Nimishamba Devi Temple. There is an ISKCON temple in the city.

The city is well connected by air, rail and road. The greatest advantage for Bangalore is its climate. It enjoys a pleasant weather all round the year.

Most of the Bangalore luxury hotels provide all modern amenities to visitors. Facilities available include room service, in-house restaurant, swimming pools, party halls, internet, conference rooms, back-up power supply, spa and gyms.

Among the three-star Bangalore hotels are 12th Avenue, 16 Square Service Apartments, 18 Woods Inn, 24 Tech Hotel, 37th Crescent, 6th Avenue and 9 Marks Inn.
