Is Your Home One Of The 10 Per Cent?
Energy efficiency is something that many home owners have to think about and unfortunately it is something that many homes fall short of. Since April 2008, all the new homes that were built had to meet very stringent standards which revolved around draught proofing, heating and lighting. They also needed to have an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) which gave each house an energy rating.
However, of the 300,000 that were tested, 30,000 of them did not meet the necessary standards which mean 10% of homes do not meet the necessary energy efficiency standards. This is bad news for the environment as it is important that everyone tries to do their part but for home owners this means more than that; it is also means that they are throwing money away because the heat is their homes is being let out the house meaning you have to have your heater on for longer which is going to result in higher utility prices over the year.
The question is then, how can you ensure that your home is energy efficient and what are the long term benefits? Well, there are a number of things that you can do including wall insulation (given ...
... that the majority of heat is lost through the walls), have the latest style and highest quality windows and the best type of doors on the market. From energy efficiency qualities to security and style, these three products are the things that make sure your home is energy efficient.
The benefits of ensuring your home is energy efficient are that you could save around £150 per year which is definitely going to add up in the long term. Energy efficiency is the reason why companies are constantly trying to improve their range of products they sell and if they can do this, customers will look to buy from them. At the moment, composite doors which can be purchased for the front or back of the house, and triple glazed windows are the most advanced, and therefore most efficient, products on the market so if you need to increase the efficiency of your home, consider having one of these fitted as soon as possible.
Even if you do not want to do it for the environment, do it for your wallet because you can save a considerable amount of money over the years by simply having a new set of doors or windows installed.
Make your home energy efficient by installing a composite door and triple glazed windows and start seeing the benefits.
