Smile Pretty With Teeth Whitening Products
Fortunately for coffee drinkers and smokers the new teeth whitening products are the perfect product to use to have a camera ready smile. And with the explosion of digital cameras on the mobile phones the chances of having your picture taken greatly increases each day.
It can happen when you Brush your Teeth
Some toothpaste has additives in them that whiten your teeth as you brush. Some toothpaste with whitening in them advertises that they can whiten your teeth in one week. This is great news for those who do not have camera ready smiles.
However, what effect does this toothpaste whitener have on our teeth? Is it doing more harm than good, by using this more expensive toothpaste than a regular non whitening brand? One reported problem is that people tend to over use them. Brushing too long or too hard ruins the enamel on teeth and instead of hardening or whitening the surface. This can lead to many problems the least of which is tooth decay.
Side Effects of Teeth Whitening Products
Few people experience side effects from using these bleach or peroxide based ...
... products. They are safe enough and people should have a good experience. However there have been some reported problems from people with sensitive teeth. If your teeth are already sensitive to hot and cold the users then the sensitivity increases with the use of these products. For example some sensitive teeth people are also sensitive to citrus juices and colas. A person with this sensitivity is more likely to experience sensitivity to the toothpaste that has peroxide.
Drinking orange juice or any citrus drink each day reduces the enamel on your teeth because the acid eats away the top coating. The peroxide in the whitening paste is likely to react with the layered enamel and cause some sensitivity. Cola and most soft drinks that are acid will cause the same reaction.
Some people experience a bad reaction when they have their teeth cleaned. The cleaning ingredient peroxide is an allergic element to their system and the reaction of the cleaning agent is that of an allergy. For the most part any sensitivity or allegoric reaction will happen during the time immediately after the whitening and the effects are gone with 24 hours. No long-term effects have been found. The best advice would be to try the product and note if you are sensitive or if your teeth are experiencing a feeling of pain. If so do not use the rest of the toothpaste and discover another alternative to whiten your teeth.
There are very few people who experience any sensitivity from teeth whitening products and those who do report problems are the people with sensitive teeth to other elements such as hot and cold, citrus juices and colas. Those with sensitive teeth already should consult their dentist before changing products just to see what the dentist advises.
teeth whitening products are safe for most people who do not have sensitive teeth to other elements already. Use the products to whiten your coffee and cigarette stained teeth to be ready for the camera and smile!
