During these crazy times, it is clearer than ever that those owning and operating businesses of all kinds and sizes must maintain their focus on their business. While grossly under-reported, business loans are still very obtainable as long as you have the same things you have always had to have to obtain a business loan from your community or area bank i.e. solid business plan, collateral, etc. In other words, capital is still available to entrepreneurs as long as you aren't relying on smoke and mirrors.

The facts are clear. Gross Domestic Product continues to expand by at least 3% per year despite the fact that the stock market has gone nowhere for the past 10 years again this is an unreported and largely unrecognized fact of life. Despite the internet bubble, the over-liquefaction by Alan Greenspan in preparation of the Y2K mirage, the greatest single attack on our country, recession, the Iraq War and the larger War on Terror and a government that is clueless as to the real issues, problems and solutions all of this and our economy actually marches on. Despite rumors to the contrary, we will work ourselves out of the financial mess. More importantly for you, you can control your own destiny for your online business. Don't look now, but searching for products and services on Google et al continues to grow and grow impressively even though the United States continues to deal with important and serious challenges from both within and without.

So, what is it you should actually do? Focus on your Internet Business. What is the status and health of your website? Is it generating the business results you desire or expected? Are you easily found on Google for your most important keywords? Do you know what most important keywords are? Are you getting conversions in the right numbers from visitors to your website? Are you relying only on Google or other search engines as your sole internet marketing strategy?

If you answered no or I don't know to any of these questions, you must seriously consider developing a comprehensive internet marketing strategy. The power of the internet is in the power of the user. It is the user that initiates all commercial contact on the internet. It becomes incumbent on business websites to be active and RELEVANT rather than static, docile and clearly irrelevant. Without solid Search Engine Marketing, Social Bookmarking, use of the Social Media, Affiliate Marketing Programs, paid online advertising and a solid commitment to textual and visual content, your website will remain irrelevant and relatively invisible while your online competition gets all of the attention and ultimately the business that surely results.

My point: Don't sell America short. It's never been a good strategy in the past and I assure you it won't be a good strategy going forward. I remember the 70's and things were just as bad or worse then. All throughout, those that kept their focus on their businesses and their careers and became highly invested in their growth, were the ultimate winners and beneficiaries. Unlike the 70's, you have a great new vehicle; it's the internet and you can ride this great wave of technology and communication to more fully develop yourself personally and professionally. It isn't the venue reserved for so-called big business either you can compete and win even against the big boys. You can even the playing field and win!
