Reason #1:A church might choose WordPress because they don't want to spend the extra money on a more traditional static HTML coded website. Before WordPress came along, churches had to hire expensive programmers and coders to build church websites in something called HTML. With WordPress themes for churches it's much easier and quicker to get a new church website up and running. Lots of churches used to do it the old-fashioned, expensive way. Some still do (but not many).Reason #2:A church might choose WordPress themes if they anticipate ever growing and/or wanting to making changes to their site. The WordPress platform is also known as a 'content management system'(CMS) and they were originally designed for companies that needed to be able to make changes frequently and rapidly.Reason #3A church might choose a WordPress theme if there will be more than one person putting content on it. WordPress can be set up to allow multiple 'authors'. That means that a church could have different people submitting content on different subjectsspreading the workload around, right?Reason #4:A church that wanted to change their look periodically ...
... might choose WordPress themes because WordPress allows the quick and easy changing of themes. A new 'theme' can change the whole style and look of the blog or website (e.g. from light and airy to dark and mysterious or from a very modern look to a more traditional, old fashioned look). Some churches even like the idea of having special holiday or seasonal website themes.Reason #5:Churches care about being seen on Google. The fact is, Google likes WordPress sites and ranks them higher than traditionally built HTML sites...for the simple reason that WordPress sites are easier for Google to read.Reason #6:A church website needs the information on it to be easy to find. Everything needs to be found in just a click or two. Churches need the ability to customize the navigation menus on their WordPress church theme with sub-menus and drop down boxes that makes all the information is easy to find quickly.Reason #7:Churches want their site to be different from church websites in their city or neighborhood, right? WordPress church themes allow something called 'widgets'. Widgets are nifty little accessories that extend or enhance the functionality of the website to make it more useful. Something like an 'app' does on an iPhone. There's widgets with games, news, music, instant messaging...and many more. Widgets are similar to 'extras' on a car. You can even get widgets that allow you to put advertising on the blog. We're talking advertising that you get paid for just like if a local business wanted to put a sign out on an unused corner of your property and pay you for it. But some church websites prefer the simple, boring, plain-Jane type of website with just the standard Name of Church, Address of Church, Pastor's Name, Service Times and Phone Number...right? Those churches wouldn't need a church WordPress theme that allows widgets.Reason #8:WordPress themes come in a huge variety of layouts and colors. Plus...you can adjust and modify them even further within the control panel of the theme itself. Top companies in just about any field you can think of (including lots of churches) are using WordPress church themes to make their sites things of beauty that the church membership takes pride in and the community takes notice of. Nobody wants a simple looking, ho-hum, hard to read, hard to navigate, dull, and boring websites that take forever to build and install and cost a fortune to modify. For churches who prefer that type of website, that's fine. It's fine because 'the harvest is plentiful but the workers are few'. Certain churches are destined to get their share of that harvest and some...won't. Churches that want to see their membership increase understand the importance of a strong, effective web presence. The internet is where more and more of the 'fishing for souls' is done today and a nice WordPress church theme is a move in the right direction. Conclusion:A church should be using a nice WordPress church themesee you in church!
