Good year is a small and beautiful city in the metropolitan area of Phoenix in the Arizona State, US. The city is one of the rapidly progressing and developing cities of Arizona. Due to the growing demands and the commercial importance a private airport was formed two miles away from the central business district of the city few years back, named as the Phoenix Good year airport. It was formerly known as the Good Year Municipal Airport. Phoenix Good year Airport is a small airport in the Good year city which is not only playing a major role in the progress of the city but also is helping in controlling the air traffic at the Sky Harbor International Airport. Sky harbor receives thousands of international and commercial flights daily and thus it was very much necessary to develop a reliever airport in the vicinity. Good year airport is a public airport that is owned by the city of Phoenix. The total area of the airport is 789 acres which is considerably larger than the other reliever airports in Glendale and Mesa.

Later as the bigger storage places was built in Tucson the city of Phoenix bought this Airport to decrease the burden of air traffic in Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport. This airport is not currently being used for any commercial purposes rather it is serving as an airbase to store the aircrafts and as training center for training young pilots. Due to considerably large storage capacity . Two hundred aircrafts are based here, three quarter of them are single engine. The remaining include multi engine crafts, jet aircrafts and helicopters

AeroTurbine Inc. is a company that provides maintenance and storage facility to many different aircrafts including the Boeing and DC 9s and DC-10s. you can see them from the road. Airline Training Center Arizona is a site for the training of the German Pilots. A German Airline known as Lufthansa Flights train their students here. They not only train their general aviation pilots but also their pilots in G-120 aircraft. Oxford Aviation Academy is another academy that uses this airport for training the pilots for the British and European Airlines Federal Aviation Administration has made some regulations that regulate the training of the pilots. Only those academies can train their students here who abide by the rules of the FAA. All these features have made the Phoenix Good year Airport a big center of learning.
