The Amazon kindle is perfect for reading eBooks. Unlike an IPad its battery life is measured in months not hours and its e-ink screen allows you to read in almost all light conditions with considerably less eye strain.

The Amazon kindle is perfect for reading eBooks. Unlike an IPad its battery life is measured in months not hours and its e-ink screen allows you to read in almost all light conditions with considerably less eye strain.

However, the Amazon kindle is limited to just reading books, and only eBooks brought from the Amazon store. It has no built-in support for email, RSS feeds, webpage’s, etc.

Thankfully there is a free service called KindleSend, a specialized content distribution service for Kindle RSS feeds, Kindle Newspapers, Email, and much more. It automatically downloads RSS news feeds, email, webpage’s, etc, prepares, and sends them to your Kindle for offline browsing.

Kindle Email
The Kindle is designed for reading books; it is not designed for writing documents, browsing the web, or reading email. But with the use of KindleSend you can now read email on your kindle. Your last 50 emails are downloaded, combined into a single document and formatted specifically for reading on the Kindle, in a similar way to how you would read newspapers. It doesn't allow you to send email, but been able to read your email in foreign countries or just keeping important messages available at a moment’s notice can be invaluable.

The contents of webpage’s can be sent to your kindle. Any advertising/headers are removed and the core content of the page is sent. The webpage can be monitored for changes and when a change is detected, the offline webpage on your Kindle automatically updated.

Support for full scheduled syncing is provided, so you can control how and when Kindle RSS, email, & news are sent to your Kindle. For Example if you leave home at 7am, your Kindle can be updated at 6:30am so that the latest RSS, email, & news are ready and waiting for you to read on your commute to work/school.
