The question of Chevy versus Ford has been pondered and debated by car enthusiasts for decades. In fact, GM acquired Chevrolet in 1918 with the intention of competing against Ford's Model T. The Chevrolet brand dates back to November 1911 when Louis Chevrolet and William Durant founded the soon-to-be iconic car company. Since then Chevrolet cars have been embraced across North America – and around the world.

One of the most-beloved Chevrolet cars is the classic Chevrolet Impala which debuted in 1958. The Impala had a bold design in its early generations with dual headlamps, sculpted tailfins, and three taillights on each side. Over the years, the Chevrolet Impala evolved. By 1965, the Impala set an industry record of over 1 million U.S. unit sales in a single year. At this time, the car was in its fourth generation, and many of these popular Chevrolet cars were manufactured in Ontario. Now in its ninth generation, the Impala continues to be manufactured in Oshawa, Ontario, and it continues to be a popular choice for drivers.

Another popular new and used Chevrolet is the Suburban which dates back to 1934. The ...

After a short hiatus, Chevy's answer to Ford's Mustang has returned. The Camaro enjoyed a long run from 1966 through 2002 and was recently resurrected in 2010 to the delight of Camaro fans around the world.

While these three Chevrolet cars have long histories, many new Chevrolet vehicles are capturing the imagination of consumers including the Sonic, Volt, Cruze, Equinox, and Orlando. These are all fantastic Chevrolet cars!

Georgetown and Toronto car enthusiasts interested in buying a Chevrolet model built in Canada should note that the Chevrolet Impala, Camaro, and Equinox are all assembled locally at the Oshawa Car Assembly. The 2014 Chevrolet Impala will also be built here.
