As we know that barcodes are simple vertical lines which are a sign of authenticity and identification. These bars have specific length and width to prove their uniqueness. Through barcode scanners these bars are thoroughly checked and accessed their uniqueness The scanning process is done through lasers which comes out from the barcode scanners which works as a photo sensor. The scanner decodes this bar and sends signals to the computer and the PC or the computer checks them with the barcode software which has been installed in it previously. These signals convert the bars into numbers and letters as a name and number of the product.

Theretail stores sell various inventory or products and use this barcode to access the entire transaction with accuracy. These machines are very much helpful in cash maintaining while it increases the purchases and sales transaction notes with more accuracy and speed. The types

There are three types of barcode scanners i.e. image based, laser based and wireless. Image-based barcode scanners use a camera usually embedded in a barcode scanner. The camera will capture the images and then processed by complex image techniques to decode the barcodes. The second one is laser-based barcode scanners use mirrors and lenses to read the barcodes. These are more expensive than image based scanners. The technology used in laser based is much advanced and more long lasting and productive as well. The third type is the wireless barcode scanners which are handheld devices, which are powered by batteries and are capable of transmitting data from a few feet away. They have a base, which doubles as a battery charger and a single base could be capable of communicating to a number of scanners simultaneously. Their obvious advantages have led to an increased popularity and intense competition amongst the barcode scanners' manufacturers, and newer and better models are released on the market each year.
