5 Cleaning Habits You Have To Develop
My carpets are not normally the cleanest around, although I am a pro carpet cleaner, and know the pros and cons of carpet cleaning like the back of my hand. Often, I need to explain to my guests that I am too busy cleaning all the other carpets around, to find time to clean my own. Yeah. Right.Cleaning my own carpet gives me the greatest pleasure you can imagine however, and I always experience great joy in doing it.Over the years, I have developed several habits that have helped me to achieve this.Cleaning my own carpet at home, affords me the freedom to choose from among many different carpet cleaning variables, from equipment to chemicals, to relevant conditions, to recommended procedures, and observe the consequences and effects of each. That's a great way to learn in a hurry. There is more than one type of carpet in our home, and this provides us with an additional advantage. Here are some of the carpet cleaning habits we have developed, and recommend:1. Clean by using the deep steam cleaning method anytime your carpet is heavily soiled. Only ...
... use the dry cleaning method, if you must, for surface cleaning or light maintenance.3. Always try to use those solvents and emulsifiers that are truly "soap-free". When I first started to clean carpet, I would select the most aggressive chemicals I could find, in order to take out the soiling quickly and make the carpet look really good in short shrift. I soon found out that these chemicals had a very high pH, and needed to be neutralized with an acid (low pH) rinse and washed out of he carpet completely, or else they could be just a "dirt magnet" that would cause rapid re-soiling and leave the carpet looking dirtier than before.4. Hot water is essential for efficient carpet cleaning. Chemicals react faster at elevated temperatures. That is one reason why truck mounted cleaning is so effective. In most portable units, it is difficult to maintain high water temperatures.5. Inspect the carpet for stains before starting any job. Stains may need special treatment, and the type of treatment will be determined by the nature of the stains. The pH of the carpet may need to be adjusted before attempting to remove it. There is no universal solvent that will remove all stains. If you need help, do not hesitate to call in an experienced, certified carpet cleaning company.I have learnt a lot by practicing at home, and continue to develop my cleaning abilities and skills by adopting these habits. I recommend them highly to you.
