Kakinada The Second Madras

The Government has considered it as part of a special economic zone and a proposed Petro-Chemical Investment Region. The British used to call it ‘Cocanada’. The city is well connected by the Indian Railways, Road and Air.
Kakinada has a tropical savanna climate. It receives it Monsoon from Mid-October to Mid-December. The city is run by the Municipal Corporation, consisting of elected representatives and a commissioner. It is very closely connected to Pitapuram which is just 21kilometers away. With its Air Port about 65km from the city at Rajahmundry, it is connected to all the major cities and even international destinations.
The city is full of entertainment and attractions. It has many cinema theaters and multiplex theaters. You can find shopping mall such as Spencer, M & M, Planet Fashion, Land Mark and many more. Many branded companies have opened their showroom here. You don’t need to run around for entertainment or shopping ads you will find all of them on the Cinema Road.

The Aanavaran Satyanarayan Swami Temple, about 40 kms from here is the second richest temple in Andhra Pradesh.
