Disadvantages Of Rooting An Android Device

If you search the web for enhancing the performance or productivity of Android devices, you will most likely come across the term “rooting”. So what is this? As you know, Android is an operating system powering smartphones and tablets. It was built for commercial and private use. Like any other operating system, there are some features that have been put out of action in Android because of future use or to prevent the device from permanent damage. Here rooting is the method through which limitations are removed to get full access to the disabled features. Rooting enables the disabled features in an Android device. Rooted Android smartphones and tablets offer additional controls over several features, settings, and performance. But, the decision to root your Android device is like you are willingly putting it at risk.
There are more disadvantages of rooting than the advantages.
No more warranty if the device is rooted.
The warranty of Android devices immediately gets voided when you root it. The phone manufacturer does not provide any service for a rooted Android device. In case your rooted device ...
... gets problem, the service center will reject to solve it out.
Rooting makes your phone “bricked”.
There is no fun in carrying a “bricked” Android phone or tablet. Bricking involves misconfiguration, corrupted firmware or a hardware problem or death of the device. In some cases, bricking can cause permanent damage of essential on-board software.
Rooting affects performance
It is not true that performance can be improved if you choose to root your device. You can add some additional capabilities in your device but do not expect an improved performance. Many devices have lost both performance and features after rooting. Rooting alters the default stock of system and affects the performance of the device as well.
Device becomes more prone to virus and malware attacks.
Like other operating systems, Android OS can also get viruses and malwares. When you root an Android device, the original code of software is changed and the device runs with the risk of being attacked by viruses and malwares.
As far as advantages are concerned, rooting gives your device with powers to run special applications that do not function on an un-rooted device. Rooting also allows your apps to be moved to SD card. This may help you free inbuilt memory of the system. Also, customized ROMs have power to change the complete look and feel of an Android device, but you can install them if your device is rooted. Still, rooting an Android device is risky and it presents fewer advantages than disadvantages.
