Firstly, the thing you should understand is why the oven gets that characteristic black oily dirt on it. It happens because the oil from all the food that it cooks gets on to the body of the oven. While cleaning always make sure that the oven is turned off and that it has not been used recently i.e. it is cold. Unplug the oven, if it is a microwave one, if necessary.

Next, spray the soda solution (mix baking soda + water until the soda is completely dissolved) directly on to the blackened portion of the oven and keep doing this throughout the day until the dirt is completely removed. Also, if the oven is cold, after leaving the solution on the dirt, wipe the oven with a damp cloth.
