There are 3 kinds of pollution, air pollution, noise pollution and water pollution which worsens global environment day by day.
The most polluted countries of the world, in terms of air-pollution, are USA and China. As these are industrially advanced countries, the air is much polluted due to smog coming out of industrial units and carbon-dioxide being continually emitted in the air. Other long-term risks include problems caused by inhalation of mercury particles from industries and factories. Its exposure is dangerous to even a developing fetus and may cause birth-defects.
The Ministry of Environmental Protection in China has recently issued notice to tackle noise pollution, considering the complaints of noise form traffic hazards. Further, China will thrive to eliminate noise pollution in 3 major areas; traffic, construction and industry.
Hong Kong, for instance, recorded its first ever, severe roadside pollution warning. Because of thick air pollution, students were asked to remain indoors during school hours, outdoor activities were cancelled and residents were instructed to stay indoors.

... to reduce noise pollution, noise barriers must be built on both sides of roads to protect noise-sensitive buildings. In addition, noise pollution from railways and around airport must also be controlled. A recent survey conducted revealed that 92% respondents believed that noise pollution had worsened in recent years. Due to the noise, people suffer from insomnia or hearing impairment.
Because of air pollution, breathing problems have arisen which includes respiratory infection accompanied by asthma symptoms. The vehicle-emission from millions of residents of a metropolitan city and emission from local power plants have added to the health problems. In order to reduce the intensity of air-pollution, government should introduce and encourage environmentally-friendly cars, in their campaign to combat the worsening air pollution problem.
The electrical gadgets, such as computers and mobile phones also pose a great threat to air-pollution, because of the radiation in air. The pollution problem is increasing manifold because of modern technology producing vast amount of chemical and radio-active wastes! One way to be environmentally friendly is to reuse and recycle computers. Refurbished laptops or used computers can be effectively utilized.
The famous Lake Victoria, in East Africa, which supplies water to millions in neighboring countries of Kenya and Tanzania, is experiencing worst water pollution so fast that it will be impossible to purify its water enough to provide drinking water to the entire population! Its water has turned completely green due to algae deposits and swamping the whole place. The waste handling capacity of the government is unable to keep pace with the growth in population. Moreover, it supports fisheries, but the pollutants are killing certain species of fish, thus affecting the fishing industry.
Increasing water-pollution, driven by climate change, and economic growth is largely affecting human lives. Urbanization, agriculture, industry and climate-change create pressure on the quality and quantity of our water-resources.
World Water Week and Earth Day are celebrated every year to create awareness among general public to reduce pollution and save the Earth.The entire world is going through all types of pollution hazards. If the timely remedial actions are not taken, it can adversely affect all sectors of human population.
