Nainital is a popular hill station located in the state of Uttarakhand. Nainital tourism has so much to offer to tourists: right from visiting Jim Corbett’s home to boating to hitch hiking, the place’s got it all. Nainital is sectioned into two parts: Mallital and Tallital. The town is named after Goddess Naina Devi, and the best time to visit it is between the months of May and July, when the rest of India faces scorching heat. Nainital is close to the Kathgodam railway station that lies 35 km away, and the PantNagar Airport is at a distance of 2 hours from the place. You can access many Nainital packages on the Internet before coming down to the place. Here’s a look at some of the destinations to visit.
Sher-Ka-Danda Ridge or Snow View is located at a height of 2270 m. This place is accessed by Aerial Express Ropeway. This place provides breathtaking views of the entire Naina Devi peak. Nanda Devi Temple was destroyed in the landslip that occurred during 1880, ...
... and was entirely revamped by the British after that. It was built in the 15th Century. Naini Lake is centrally located around the entire town of Nainital and is pear shaped. Seven Hills surround the lake and offer a majestic view to all the tourists visiting the place. Guano Hills lie in Pangot village and offer some amazing walks for hitch hikers through forests of deodar, oak, and bamboo. Some birds like the black chinned babbler and grey woodpecker can be found there. Sariyatal is a stream that comes on Kaladhungi Road, and the water is extremely cold there. Many travelers spend some time here before going to other places.
You can go boating in the Naini Lake as there are paddle boats available, and the charges are based on hourly basis. Hiring a yacht is also a possible option. Adventure enthusiasts trek up to the Naina Peak, and as it is a less visited place you can relax there. Many pilgrims visit the Neem Karoli Baba Ashram and Temple in Kainchi. Baba has many followers across the world who come and pay their respect to him. You can trek to Tiffin Top or take a horse ride till there. Finding shops atop the hill isn’t a problem. There are many places to eat and drink at Nainital and have a variety of cuisines as there are many tourists visiting the place. You can find many Nainital resorts that will fit in your budget too.
