File Your Taxes On Time And Get The Rebates
When you earn, you have to keep in mind the taxes. You have to pay them on a regular basis if you o not want to incur the consequences. However, there are a number of ways in which you can get a rebate on the tax. You can avail a number of tax rebates whether you work under an employer or are self employed. Discussed below are some of them.
Those who are working under an employer, under the PAYE (Pay as you Earn) they are entitled to----
Car Allowance
If you have to travel on your work and no fuel allowance is paid by your employer, then you are entitled to a car allowance. For the first 10,000 business miles that you cover with your own vehicle you will get 45p per mile. After that the rate drops to 25p per mile. You do not need to keep the bills or the receipts. All you need is the travel log.
Allowance for tools
If you have specialized tools for your job then you can claim an allowance for their maintenance. You can claim the full amount that you have paid for them. However, this only applies when your employer does ...
... not pay you for them. but for this you have to keep the receipts.
Uniform tax rebate
This is applicable for those who have a work uniform and have to maintain them on their own. The uniform should be distinguishable and should have a logo. But in certain cases the logo is not compulsory. There is a fixed amount that is paid out either as a cheque or as a tax rebate. Here, also the bills do not need to be saved as the rates are fixed.
For those who have are self employed need not feel disheartened, as they are also offered some tax rebate by the HMRC. If you file your self employed tax return then you will get a relief depending on the expenses that you have to incur due to your job. This includes travelling allowance, tools, clothes, office supplies, stationeries etc. But you need to keep the receipts and quote them while claiming for the rebate. This is also necessary to file because you are not employed under anyone. Therefore, it is your duty to declare your employees’ as well as your earnings and their taxes have to be filed either by you or your tax consultant.
