But Jones disagrees and says that they shouldn’t be called as medicines and they are extremely safe to use. What his industry is lacking is the ability to market the product as a smoking cessation tool.

An e-cigarette usually contains about 16-18mg of nicotine infused per gram of the atomized liquid. Heavy smokers find this to be very strong even though it is much lesser than the amount in a regular cigarette. This way, a smoker gets just enough to finish the lit cigarette.

2013 is when the MHRA will give their final decision on e-cigarettes and how they will be regulated. Meanwhile, the sale rates of e-cigarettes have increased and big names in the tobacco industry are planning to release these devices.
