Many people do not know exactly what Fluorochemicals are, but those who do understand that they play a very important role for our society, and it is more products than most people realize.
Defining Fluorochemicals is not the easiest thing to do, especially for those who have not had a background in chemistry through much of their schooling life. Essentially, Fluorochemicals are a chemical compound that contains fluorine.

While most people do not need to understand it, they often interact with Fluorochemicals on a regular basis in their day-to-day lives. For example, in the paper industry, paper fibres are coated in Fluorochemicals to provide oil and grease resistance. If it was not for that coating, the oil on the fingers of people would slowly degrade the quality of the paper, which makes this a big problem for books from the library that are shared between dozens, or even hundreds of people a year.

There are many companies that provide Fluorochemicals to industries, but by far the leader is Halocarbon, a company that has a long track record of providing excellent fluorochemical products for several years ...
... now. Halocarbon needs to be able to provide Fluorochemicals to its clients, and to do that it needs the vital ingredient of Fluorochemicals; fluorine.

Fluorine is a gas, pale yellow in color, with the atomic number of nine on the Periodic Table. This means that is one of the simpler elements. It may be simple, but it is also very poisonous, smelly, corrosive and highly reactive. It can also unite directly with nearly any element. Metals, glass, ceramics, carbon will all burn in fluorine. Even water will burn with fluorine, which naturally occurs in the minerals fluorite and cryolite. Fluorine can be used in etching glass and can be combined with other elements to create Freon, which allows refrigeration to be possible.

With fluorine and a combination of other elements, over 100 commercial fluorochemicals can be produced by companies like Halocarbon, the world leader in commercial fluorochemical production.

Halocarbon has produced some of the top fluorochemical products in the world over the past few years, and with over 100 different applications available for fluorochemical products, it is likely that many more applications will be created by Halocarbon for commercial use in the future.
