Improved Cpap Masks Allow For More Comfort During Sleep

Improved CPAP masks and CPAP machines are providing users with a more comfortable experience as they treat their sleeping disorder. The ResMed Mirage FX nasal mask has improved upon the company’s previous offering while the Respironics PR System One 60 Auto CPAP machine features new humidification technology.
ResMed Mirage FX Nasal Mask
ResMed, maker of CPAP masks, has introduced the new Mirage FX Nasal Mask. This new mask has a noticeably smaller profile. The reduction in the profile makes it easier for users to see around the mask, allowing for reading in bed or simply viewing the room. Users who have previously felt claustrophobic with other masks may appreciate this new slim design.
The mask is made up of 4 parts; the frame, the headgear, the cushion and the elbow assembly. The frame is quite small and fits snug against the nose and forehead. The headgear is adjustable to allow the user a comfortable fit. The cushion has increased amounts of silicone to make the mask fit better and softer.
The elbow assembly now has exhaust ...
... holes around the nasal area instead of directly on the hose. This has allowed some users to sleep on their stomach since the holes are not obstructed.
The elbow also has a quick release feature that disconnects the tubing from the CPAP masks. This allows the user to get up from the bed and move away from the machine without the need to completely remove the mask.
In order to accommodate a wide range of users these CPAP masks are offered in sizes wide, standard, and small. The smaller size is usually a better fit for women or people with small frames. The improved ResMed masks will work with all CPAP machines.
Respironics PR System One 60 Auto CPAP
This is an improved version of the DS550 model. The two primary features of the CPAP machines are the heating tube and improved humidification system. The redesigned humidification system allows the user to control the air temperature as well as level of humidity. This results in an elimination of rainout. Regardless of the atmospheric conditions of the room, this machine will keep the temperature and humidity at the chosen levels.
The Respironics PR System One 60 Auto can be used with any of the common CPAP masks found on the market today. The swiveling tube connector on top of these CPAP machines allows users to move about freely in the bed. The new machine from Respironics can also be used with standard tubing if the user desires.
