New developments, challenges and approaches to security issues have brought about a new kind of security guards. Gone, is the bulk of a man and bully who could throw offenders out in a moment of rage and in comes the polished, suave person who is still fit. This change has also been propagated by the formation of a regulatory body in the UK, the SIA, which is an acronym for Security Industry Authority. As such, there is a need for security training if you want to work in this industry with the new environment. The change of mode of operations has brought about a new allure to this sector and this has also led to an increase in the rewards.

There are several reasons why you should enrol for an SIA course in SIA training. First and the most fundamental of all, it is because it is a requirement. With new regulations by SIA, it is now a criminal offence to practice as a security guard without the requisite security licence training in London. You will have to be formally trained in whichever field whether ...
... door supervision training or another role. After this has been done, you can then apply for the SIA licence. This process requires you to be over eighteen years of age. You also have to undergo identity check and background checks done to confirm you do not have a criminal past or any crime charges still pending against you. You will also have to certify the body that you are competent.

This necessitates undertaking an SIA course. You have to get this from an accredited institution that offers security training. This enables you to have high chances of passing the assessment from SIA. You can check online and you will find a number of security agencies and academic colleges offering the SIA course. This will thus put you in a good position to serve diligently and with all the necessary skills important to this job. The security training contained in an SIA course also offers specialized training. This allows you to specialize in a specific role in the profession. Such include CCTV training which allows you become a CCTV operator.

The security training happens in modules which are defined by the SIA course. There are shared courses and other different ones for specialization. The first module is the basic and fundamental one. Here you are taught about the various safety precautions and procedures. You are equipped with skills to handle emergencies and a whole range of scenarios. There is also the communication skills taught which equip the trainees to be able to handle different people and restore order without physical force.

The other module comprises of conflict resolution and physical intervention. This module enables the security guards to resolve conflicts peacefully and not resort to violence. The security training also enables them to have competence in physical intervention when called for and to be able to protect themselves against assault. A major part of the SIA course is enabling the guards be aware of the regulations governing their profession and general law.
