Jaipur is the capital city of Rajasthan, probably the most vibrant state, and draws millions of tourists from all over the world.
Jaipur was built by the ruler of Amber, Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II in the 18th century and is believed to be the first ever planned city of India. The Jantar Mantar is a collection of astronomical instruments, built by Maharaja Jai Singh II between 1727 and 1734. This observatory is modelled after the one that he had built in Delhi. The Jaipur observatory is the largest and one of the best preserved observatories in India.
Jaipur can be very hot during the summer months. The best time to visit Jaipur is during winter.
