Whenever one ought to buy a laptop, one might surely get confused because there are so many laptops available in the market. Also, while buying, the buyer should make sure that he gets the laptop which meets his requirements exactly. It wouldn’t be worth buying a laptop if it does not do what the customer wants it to. If you are trapped in the same situation, you might test some factors so that you can determine the laptop which you want to buy. In the upcoming paragraphs, you will find some factors through which you will be able to compare and contrast your requirements to the laptop.

The first and most important consideration is the screen size of the laptop. Laptops come in a variety of sizes, starting from 13 inches going up to 20 inches in diagonal. Any device which is below 13 inches is called a net book. So you should ensure the screen size which would suit you the best. If you are habitual of working on a large monitor or you want to use the laptop for watching movies, playing games and using applications, then surely you should buy a laptop with larger screen sizes. But if you are a business individual, a 13 ...
... inch laptop would be perfect for usage, as it will not occupy much space on your desk and simultaneously, it will be very light to be carried. So here we touch another category, which is the laptop weight. Hold it in your hand before buying it so that you can be sure that you are comfortable with it and can handle it with ease.

Another most important category is the processor. Processors are the actual drivers of any computing devices. The more powerful the processor is, the faster your computer will run. Intel has released many processors, starting from Centrino, Celeron, Core 2Duo, 1st generation, 2nd and 3rd generation core processors, including core i3, i5, and i7. All these vary in power and functionality. The fastest processor up to date is undoubtedly 3rd generation core i7 processor. But never mind, even the 1st generation will work for you, if you do not have to make power-intensive applications.

The next category is the memory. RAM is responsible for making the laptop responsive and carrying on efficient multi-tasking. The more the RAM is, the faster your computer will run the applications. 2 GB RAM is ideal, but if you are buying the laptop for gaming purpose mainly, then you should have a minimum of 4 GB RAM. You might also consider the storage capacity of the laptop. Although, just 40 GB is also enough for a normal computer, there are up to 500 GB of RAM available in most of the laptops, so that you can store seamlessly endless stuff in your hard drive, without actually burdening it.

Battery life is also an important factor. If you are a business professional, and want to use the laptop constantly, you should ensure that the laptop you are buying should run a minimum of 7 hours in one charge. Other factors that need to be considered are the Wi-Fi compatibility and speed, optical drives, expansion slots and external connectivity ports.
