What Are Sports Supplements?
If you are an athlete you need to have some special diet. That diet should be different than that of the other non-sports people. You need to have diet that gives you strength and stamina as well as keep you healthy. The diet should be rich in protein and less in fat. This type of nutrition is not possible with only food. For that you need to consume some dietary supplement or other sports supplements. The reason is sports nutrition is different than the normal nutrition. The dietary supplements that are recommended for sports nutrition are more in protein content and less in fat content.
Almost all the athletes consume some or the other supplements to make them strong from inside and also to compensate if there is any deficit of protein intake. There is no other choice but to take supplements if you are a sports person, an athlete, a bodybuilder or just a fitness freak.

... person. The sports supplements are called ergogenic aids. The sports supplements contain vitamins, minerals, essential amino acids, some essential herbs and plants extracts and concentration. These supplements are generally available over the counter and they don’t need any prescription. But it is better to check with you coach or the doctor, which supplement will work for you and does not cause any side effect.
As the sports supplements are dietary supplements, hence they don’t need approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to be launched into the market. However, the manufacturers need to follow the good manufacturing practices by the US FDA in order to ensure safety of their product. For few people these supplements may cause side effects.
