Treasures In The Trash

Everybody of all makes and models always have something they need to throw away. At my old apartment complex in South Florida I used to find some great things at the end of the month. I once found to metal bunk bed sets that were practically brand new. At the same complex I found a mountain bike that need very little repair so that I could ride it.

There are a lot of people who make their living on sites like Ebay, Amazon, and the local classifieds. What are these people selling? My son once found a nice set of car rims for a Lexus in the trash of a house in a very nice neighborhood. He sold this set for several hundred dollars. Not bad for 5 minutes of digging around in someone else's trash. Many times you won't even need to do any digging as the items will be in the trash but on top of everything else.

I am constantly monitoring the trash no matter where I live because you'd be surprise at what can be found in it. Over the years I have found VCR's, Stereo's, furniture, computers and laptops, monitors, cassette tapes, exercise equipment, sporting goods, and I'm sure as time goes by I'll find a whole lot more. ...
... Some things will need some minor repairs but others will be just fine. 10 years ago I found a 4 head VCR that cost me $30 in repairs. When you compare the cost to the amount it would have cost me to buy a brand new 4 head VCR, I saved myself over a hundred dollars.

I know of several Ebay power sellers that get the products they sell just from dumpster diving. You only cost will then be the Ebay seller fees. If you sell at the local Flea Market then this is a great way to find things to sell. Some people will buy another persons garbage. My mom is always going to the resale shops and finding great deals on books and old records. I one time bought a bunch of budget DVD's from Wal-Mart for less than a dollar each. One of those DVD's was the Three Stooges and a Three Stooges collector paid me over 10 dollars for that DVD. That's 1000 percent profit.

My youngest son once bought some kids Yu Gi Oh collection of cards for $5. My son then sold those cards at Yahoo for over $200. Besides dumpster diving you could just make it a point to go to people rummage sales an hour or so before they are ready to pack it in and call it a day. You'd be surprised at how cheap somebody will sell something for rather than have to pack it away. A lot of stores have this mentality as well. They would much rather sell something at a loss than to have to try and return the merchandise to the distributor of where they bought it from.

I know of some Ebay sellers who buy regular merchandise at stores like Wal-Mart and Big Lots and then resell this product on sites like Ebay and these people are doubling their money. A 100 percent profit is not a bad business. When my wife and I moved down to Florida we sold off everything from our house in Georgia at a yard sale. We didn't want to have to find boxes and pack everything up. We figured that almost everything could be replace once we were settled in in Florida.
