All Set For Iseet 2013

The successor to the JEE and AIEEE, which has been paving way for all engineering aspirants, will now be called ISEET, the Indian Science Engineering Eligibility Test. The new pattern will come in force from 2013 and will help getting away with multiple entrance exams and as a result will reduce students’ stress level. So, now there will be only one test that will decide your eligibility and admission prestigious IITs,NITs, and other centrally-funded technical institutes.
Another significant change that is believed to come in action is the criteria of giving just 40% weightage to class XIIth scores. This has triggered a rage amongst all IIT-JEE and AIEEE aspirants, parents and the college officials. There is a serious demand from the Centre and the State governments to shun the proposed weightage system as there is no uniforffm curriculum for 10+2 across the country. The protestors have also demanded to postpone the implementation of the new ISEET pattern from 2014. This will prove beneficial as a fresh batch of students taking admission in 10+2 in the academic year 2012-2013 can prepare for the pattern ...
... accordingly.
Mr. M.V.S. Satyanarayana, a senior IIT JEE trainer, also supports the idea and says, “Different states have different Boards to conduct 10+2 exams. The syllabus is different. The evaluation of answer scripts and marking system are also different. It will be unfair to give 40 percent weightage for 10+2 marks in ISEET scores that will determine admission to prestigious IITs and NITs, without bringing a common national syllabus. Let the Centre first create a level-playing field by bringing a national common syllabus at 10+2 level.”
As of now, the ISEET to be conducted in 2013 will only cover the 15 Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), 30 National Institutes of Technology (NITs), four Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), five Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research (IISERs) and few deemed universities which come under the purview of the HRD Ministry.
How is this going to affect the students?
With the new pattern of examinations, 40% of the weightage in total marks is given to state board examination. ISEET Mains i.e. the critical thinking, comprehension ability part is given 30% weightage. And the latter part of Advanced test is given another 30% of the total marks. The main idea behind this common entrance is to re-emphasize school education and makes us realize the importance of critical thinking abilities apart from the subject knowledge. This new test pattern enables students to be ready for international examinations like GRE, TOEFEL etc.
Etoosindia is a joint effort of the SK group of South Korea that envisions broadening the scope and medium of imparting education IIT JEE Entrance to the students. Etoosindia aims at providing online education to students who are preparing for ISEET examination.
