A few touch ups in the bathroom, a new vanity, possibly some fresh accessories and your old bathroom can have an exciting feel to it. A bathroom upgrade can cost as little as a couple of hundred dollars, or as high as $20,000. You can start low and have a few upgrades or you can shoot high and pull of a spectacular bathroom with a center piece like a high end vanity. Either way, your old bathroom can have an updated look with a little home improvement effort.

The best place to find bargains is by shopping online. Costs and quality vary greatly but your overall saving is around thirty to forty percent when you buy online. This even includes shipping costs. Why is this? Most home improvement stores have huge mark up in price. These stores get you in the door with low prices on some items, but then while your there you end up buying other things on impulse. On the other hand, websites have less overhead and can pass this savings on to you. But remember to do your homework and make sure the website is reputable. There are many sites out there, but the better websites will offer guarantees and should be easy to ...

Prices for bathroom vanities vary greatly. Walk into any home improvement store and you will see a huge variety ranging from the lowest priced vanities that can start around sixty dollars, all the way up to vanities that cost several thousand dollars. The lowest end vanities will most likely be RTA style vanities. RTA stands for ready to assemble and even though this type of vanities might be low in cost, they are not always lacking in quality. Please note that some RTA vanities are very cheaply designed and made, but other RTA products can be of solid construction. The difference is usually in the type of product make up. This varies from particle board construction, which is bad for a bathroom vanity, to paneled wood construction, which is better quality. So a bathroom vanity can start off low in cost and can be an RTA product which will save you money. Or you can go to the other end of the spectrum and go for a high end vanity that will be the center piece of your bathroom.

High end vanities are fast becoming a popular part of the bathroom. These vanities cost more money, but you will see where this money goes. This type of vanity will come pre assembled and has solid all wood construction, marble or granite tops, and are hand painted. As stated before these vanities become the center piece of a renovated bathroom. It costs extra, but it is a great addition to any bathroom.

Finally, other low cost accessories (new blinds, plants, etc), fresh paint, and new light fixtures can cost less money, but will go a long way to an improved look. Again buying these products online will save you money as opposed to buying accessories in a super store.

In the end you want to decide on the right vanity for your bathroom, going high end will cost some more money, but it will greatly improve the look of your bathroom. You then just have to fill in around the vanity with accessories that will complement your new bathroom.
