Forty may be the new 30, but when it comes to reproduction, ovaries never lie. "The physiological reality about starting a family is that women who are in their late 30s have a much harder time conceiving than do younger women," says Dr. Mark Rispler, an infertility specialist at the Innovative Fertility Center (www.innovativefertility.com) in Manhattan Beach, California.
