Tim D'Annunzio was born in Darby, PA in 1958 to John and Wanda D'Annunzio who at that time lived in the Overbrook part of Philadelphia. He shortly moved to Darby, PA where he lived a lower middle class life-style and attended school.Tim entered the U.S. Military where he trained as an Infantryman and Parachute Rigger. In 1980 he became a member of the U.S. Army's elite Parachute team the Golden Knights. He started as a member of the Black Demonstration Team traveling the nation and world representing the Military and then performed as member of their world champion Competition Squad. Upon leaving the parachute team he became a Military freefall Trainer with the U.S. Military Special Warfare Center. In 1985 he was Honorably Discharged after reaching the rank of Staff Sergeant.Tim worked for Martin Marietta Aerospace at the Kennedy Space Center where he worked packing, repairing as well as installing the parachutes used relating to the Space Shuttle's solid rocket boosters.After leaving Martin Marietta, Tim moved back to North Carolina and started a manufacturing business. ... Inc. initially focused on developing products related to military and civilian freefall parachuting. This business eventually closed in the early 1990's due to military cuts and the economic downturn.Tim started a company which operated from the front room of his house. This business grew from its beginning as Timco to become Paraclete Armor and Equipment Inc. which employed more than three hundred people as well as reached product sales of $16 million a year. The company was eventually sold to MSA of Pittsburgh, PA. During his time with Paraclete, Tim designed as well as patented several pieces of military equipment that ultimately grew to become the standard right through each of the branches of service and round the world.Tim created and operates the world's largest freefall simulator wind tunnel, Paraclete XP SkyVenture. He also owns numerous other organizations, owns and operates aircraft and is involved in commercial real estate.Tim and his wife Colleen married in 1995. Colleen is a veteran of the U.S. Army where she trained as a Parachute Rigger. They live in Raeford, North Carolina where they are involved in several charities including the Warrior Foundation as well as The Rockfish Camp for hearing impaired and attend Rockfish Church. Tim and Colleen have a blended family of 6 children.
